Eating Clean

For me, eating is a daily struggle. As my New Year's resolution, I decided to "clean" up my eating. It has been a slow process with lots of bumps and bruises, but I think I am finally figuring it out. I used to think that healthy was eating choosing low fat or reduced fat items, Special K bars, and 100 calorie packs. Little did I know that these were not good for my body at all. Low fat and reduced fat items are full of chemicals in order to make up for the missing ingredients. I didn't realize that, and I'm sure some of you didn't either. Special K bars are full of sugar. I tracked calories once upon a time and had no idea about the difference in good v. bad calories. Luckily, my sister-in-law was ahead of me in the clean eating game and has provided advice, recipes, and ideas for what to eat. I absolutely love finding recipes at Skinnytaste.

Meal prepping? Isn't that when you put leftovers from dinner away for lunch and grab Poptarts on the way out the door? This used to be my idea of meal prepping. Now I spend most Sundays cutting up fruits and veggies, baking muffins or oatmeal for breakfast, grilling chicken, browning turkey burger, boiling eggs and planning for the week ahead. This has been key! It makes eating healthy on the go so much easier. Who know?! Not this girl!!

There's is still so much to learn! I will share what I learn with you in hopes that it will help you!
